The UN has proclaimed 2017 International Year of Sustainable Tourism. Rete Solvay Way Italia, including colleagues representing all the eight Italian Solvay plants, has proposed an initiative to bring value to the areas surrounding the sites.
The objective was to create the Solvay Yearbook of Sustainable Hospitality, which brings together indications of typical activities and events in the sites’ areas.

Employees were invited to contribute by pointing out with a personal review venues, places and events with a high rate of sustainability, identifying local operators in their territory who, like Solvay, share the same commitment towards sustainable development.
The proposals have been collected in the Online Yearbook that will be presented today in Bollate and is online in the website WWW.SOLVAY.IT

The initiative start was published in the UN website, June 30th 2017, under the Calendar of Celebrations for the International Year of Sustainable Tourism WWW.TOURISM4DEVELOPMENT2017.ORG.

Today at 12.00 an event awarding the most reviewed activities in the territory will be held at the Bollate Solvay Headquarters in Viale Lombardia 20.
The Villa Arconati Festival, managed by the Bollate City Council, the “In Galera” restaurant of the Bollate Prison will be awarded a plaque recognizing the commitment they have deployed. The awards will be presented by Marco Colatarci, General Director of Solvay in Italy.

The Solvay Group is concretely committed to promoting at international level in all its industrial sites the “More Future” strategy, which clearly identifies sustainable development objectives with 2025 as a deadline: priority of safety on the workplace, reduction of CO2 emissions from production activities, widening the sustainable products portfolio, increasing the societal responsibility actions in the local territory, with a concrete involvement and empowering of all the employees.
