With internationally renowned tourist attraction, more than 70 ethnic groups, ecotourism and adventure tours, Destination Iguaçu promotes the geographical and cultural encounter among three countries (Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay), creating in this way, a unique and cozy environment. Among the highlights of the region, the beauty of the Iguazu Falls and the gigantic nature of Itaipu Binational, the world’s largest generator of renewable clean energy.
The three cities of the Three-Nation Region of Iguassu – Puerto Iguazú (Argentina), Foz do Iguaçu (Brazil) and Ciudad del Este (Paraguay) – form a true tourism paradise. And, because of being established in this region, the PTI has been a partner in the development of tourism in the region by executing many actions targeted at assessing and driving innovation in the industry.
Since 2007, the Itaipu Technological Park Foundation, organization that operates the PTI, has been responsible for operating and managing the Itaipu Tourism Complex (CTI), contributing to the development of technologies to support its operations as well as practices in education for tourism.
Foundation PTI is also responsible for studies, development, relationship and practices together with public and private institutions in driving the development of regional tourism. An example of this work was the establishment of the Tourism Development Program (PDT), with the proposal of becoming a model for development and innovation, involving the different stakeholders in the activity.
