Responsible and sustainable tourist guides
G-GUIDES is a group of green, global and great tourist guides, tour directors and tour managers, who are aware of the responsibility they have while conducting their job. They are cultural brokers, sustainability communicators, unforgettable experience creators, educators and ambassadors of sustainable tourism for all.
G-Guides operates as an NGO, which was founded in 2009 by Maja Čampelj and Tina Hudnik, tourist guides and tour directors who are aware, that tourism is changing and tourists are no longer traveling to see the destinations but are looking for authentic experiences, connections with local population, social impact experiences and cultural exchanges.
We believe that education is key to quality of services in tourism and this is why we are focused on training and education of tourist guides, tour managers, tour directors and escorts.
Our training is focused on tourist guides to become ambassadors of their destinations, promoters of local suppliers and creators of authentic experiences. Moreover, we are focused on teaching guides how to become the best customer satisfaction and happiness managers.
We take into consideration safety issues therefore our training is focused also on crisis management, improvement of communication skills and overcoming cultural differences by building bridges between cultures and connecting tourists with locals.
We have written a Code of conduct for sustainable tourist guides, which is implemented by sustainable and responsible destinations, tour operators and other tourism stakeholders.
Training is created and provided by accredited WFTGA* trainer Maja Čampelj.
*WFTGA is World federation of tourist guides associations, affiliate member of UNWTO in operational relations with UNESCO.
