Stop and Taste

 In Solutions

Via Francigena, the Cultural Route of the Council of Europe, is a pilgrimage and hiking route stretching from Canterbury, the UK, through France, Switzerland, Italian regions up to Rome (1.800km). Via Francigena believes that discovering territories on a slow pace, by hiking or cycling, enjoying ever changing landscapes and architecture, exploring products and gastronomy and meeting the locals – is the best way of travelling and connecting to land.

That is why Via Francigena launches its innovative project “Stop and taste”, which gives modern pilgrims and hikers a unique opportunity to taste local products, including famous Parmigiano Reggiano, in the heart of its production – the Italian area of Parma (Emilia-Romagna region). Within this project the pilgrims and hikers can take a relaxing break in one of the dairy farms and taste their products, discover their characteristics, the different maturation stages of Parmigiano Reggiano and to see the variety of dairy farms scattered around the thirteen towns along the Via Francigena.

Have a nice break and a delicious tasting!
